  2. Search Users based on Emoji

    Emoji search is working fine for tweets, but not for user search.

  3. Endpoint or method to return account(s) current standing (eg. suspended, deactivated, deleted etc)

    This would be desirable for research into both active & historical fake & disinfo accounts. Academics might also like it

    Description

    An endpoint or method that returns whether accounts has been renamed, suspended, deactivated or deleted, for both a single account and a list of accounts.

    We should be able to pass in either screenname or id or idstr, or lists thereof.

    Return an appropriately detailed JSON object.

    We can currently only establish if an account is suspended by attempting a GET user/show & then parsing the error response codes.

    Rationale

    It used to be possible to do…

  4. GET statuses/likers/ids endpoint

    Why don't we have the same kind of statuses/retweeters/ids endpoint but for likes, in order to get all the user ids who liked a particular tweet ?

  5. alt text via API

    Images in tweets should have their alt text available via API. Make it obvious. Here is where I would have expected to find it: https://developer.twitter.com/en/docs/tweets/data-dictionary/overview/entities-object#media

  6. Bookmark feature to improve organization

    Ability to categorize bookmarks and have a search bar included in that feature as well. This will permit users to access their favorite saved posts quicker and more efficiently. Organization is rooted in the most common reasons of dislike while utilizing social media applications, so with this tool you would be killing two birds with one stone. Simply by gaining attention from current and new users as well to compete with other applications while getting rid of this nuisance.

  7. Add endpoints for muted keywords

    We need a way to manage muted keywords, similar to the existing endpoints for muted users:

    GET mutes/keywords/list
    POST mutes/keywords/create
    POST mutes/keywords/destroy

  8. Add a filter to return only currently promoted tweets

    Currently there is no way to only return promoted tweets. With a "filter:promoted" filter option, it would be possible to only return promoted tweets combined with other search terms.

    This feature would help researchers and increase ad transparency.

  9. API response should contain descriptive error messages for actions that are forbidden

    When I try to hide a Tweet in a thread that wasn’t started by the authenticating user, I get the response:

    (
    [title] => Forbidden
    [type] => about:blank
    [status] => 403
    [detail] => Forbidden
    )

    I understand that this action should actually be forbidden, but the error in the API response doesn't tell me why the action is forbidden (which is that the authenticating user is trying to hide a Tweet in a thread that wasn't started by the authenticating user)

  10. Button to see poll result

    Really often, people on Twitter define a choice on their poll just to let people not concerned see the result. Why not providing a simple button to let anybody see the result without having to choose an answer ?

  11. Release from 3 day limit alert

    Giving us an alert when we are off our 3 day limit, because you guys give us one when we’re put on it but not when released from it.

  12. Build an API to create and retrieve Tweet threads

    Tweet threads have become increasingly popular over the past few years. This API would enable developers to tap into the potential of threads by programmatically creating threads, as well as retrieving all Tweets in a thread.

  13. Make it easier to use multiple apps as different dev environments or clients for the same tool or service

    Allow me to group and label related Twitter apps like product / staging / development, or clients for different platforms, like iOS / Android for a piece of software, service, or mobile app I’m building. This would enable me to better organize my integration. Ideally, I’d manage my API access at the group level rather than for each app, for ease and consistency.

  14. "Followers you know" in Get labs/2/users expansions

    In the app or on the web, we can access to the list of "Followers you know" of another user. It could be nice to have this information in expansions too.

  15. API to report abuse/inappropriate content

    I suggest that the report features extend to API users. Report abuse is only available for individuals who get exposed to, click, and decide to report a tweet/account.

    A lot of inappropriate content is unfortunately on twitter. Perhaps I could categorize into 4 types:
    (1) inappropriate language: hate speech, harassment (bullying, sexual harassment)
    (2) inappropriate image: pornography, graphic violence
    (3) intention for inappropriate and harmful activities: intention to commit a crime (shooting, bomb, individual or mass threats), sell inappropriate products and services (prostitution, drugs - not debating if it is illegal or not, but I think twitter shouldn't be the…

  16. Sharing GIF from Code on iOS

    If I am not mistaken, GIF sharing on iOS is not working from the Gallery either. But my original request was for GIF sharing from code.

    I found this great plugin for Unity to share images. The author also was having problems with sharing GIF on some apps. In my opinion it should be supported by the apps, as it is impossible to write a comprehensive adaptation for every app around. As the author was having issues with GIFs not showing he fixed it by converting to a UIImage -> this loses the animation of a GIF.

  17. Use cases for the ability to limit who can reply to a Tweet in the API

    The API should support limiting who can reply to a Tweet when Tweeting using POST statuses/update. This could be useful for publishing tools that can be used to schedule and publish Tweets across different accounts (e.g. a brand account in multiple languages).

    What are other use cases where you would want to limit who can reply to a Tweet through the API?

  18. Could not authenticate you

    I always get the error "{"errors":[{"code":32,"message":"Could not authenticate
    you."}]}" when I use "users/show.json", but it can success with "application/ratelimitstatus.json".
    Can I get more information to solve this problem? Thank you !

  19. Who to follow API

    Add an API version of the popular "Who to follow" link seen at lower right on the home page: https://twitter.com/<...>/whotofollow .
    (Currently it uses non-public APIs under the hood.)

  20. Hide Notifications Option

    Having the option to hide certain notifications off that feed. To hide specific accounts off your feed after they pop up so you don’t have to even view them.
