  1. First Tweet containing a hashtag

Surface is the first tweet in the hashtag, to know the founder of the hashtag, it is his right; and also there are those who use the hashtag for no purpose intended for topic of the hashtag (no objection to it), but you are tired to reach the news for which the hashtag was founded due to the large number of tweets outside the same topic.

This is already possible with the Search API (full archive). You can use the counts endpoint for example to find out when a hashtag was mentioned for the first time on Twitter.

  2. Trending spots

Add more trending stations/places, like for north Indians its only Delhi.

  3. Allow API access to tweet analytics CSVs

Specifically, some kind of way to download the csvs produced by exporting https://analytics.twitter.com/user/[INSERT DATA]/tweets given OAuth read (or even read/write) scope would be really useful

  4. Show app developer profile on app authorization screen

The app authorization screen that shows up whenever a user is authorizing / logging in using twitter with a twitter app for the first time should also display the app owner twitter account. Like a "Made by: @TwitterAPI ..." box

As a user, I find it reassuring to see that an app developer has an active presence on Twitter, and as a developer, i'd like to be open about the app purpose and ownership.

eg: https://developer.twitter.com/content/dam/developer-twitter/images/Screen_Shot_2015-03-20-authorize-card.png this screen should contain something like the profile popup displaying Name, screen_name, description, whether the account follows me and "Followed by ... and ...…

  5. Synced drafts

For drafted tweets to be synced with my account, whether I reinstall the app or change platforms, my drafts are synced throughout all platforms

  6. historize likes

Currently a like given by a user is not related to a date in the API.
Having this info can be useful to analyze the "likes activity" of a user on the past X days for example.

  7. The Moments Feature on Twitter

I loved the Moments feature on Twitter, it allowed me to organize my past tweets in a functional manner. There is nothing that really replaces it!!! Generally speaking, Twitter needs to offer users more options in terms of organizing their content. I vote to bring Moments back:)

  8. Sharing GIF from Code on iOS

If I am not mistaken, GIF sharing on iOS is not working from the Gallery either. But my original request was for GIF sharing from code.

I found this great plugin for Unity to share images. The author also was having problems with sharing GIF on some apps. In my opinion it should be supported by the apps, as it is impossible to write a comprehensive adaptation for every app around. As the author was having issues with GIFs not showing he fixed it by converting to a UIImage -> this loses the animation of a GIF.

  9. Hide Partial Tweet for Spoiler Discussion

Add a feature to allow for the creation of spoiler filled discussions without the concern of the spoilers being seen by others while they are scrolling through their timeline.

Ideally this would allow for a visible topic to be posted (Movie Title), followed by some text along the lines of "spoiler" that would act as a trigger to display the hidden portion of the tweet (Movie Spoiler).

Potentially replies to the parent tweet would inherit the title and spoiler tag as well to keep replies, retweets, or likes from showing up on a timeline with the spoiler content visible.

  10. Nonstop Video Play

Having the ability to play videos outside of the app while you are scrolling through your phone. In case people are multitasking and still want to pay attention.

  11. Hide Notifications Option

Having the option to hide certain notifications off that feed. To hide specific accounts off your feed after they pop up so you don’t have to even view them.

  12. Provide an API to retrieve recent user notifications (likes, RTs, follows, added to list, mentions, etc)

Today we have an API to get mentions and a cumbersome API to get some RT info. However, constructing something equivalent to the "Notifications" tab in Twitter is difficult or impossible. Where it's possible to approximate this functionality, it's inefficient (involving many requests) and runs up against rate limits very easily. A simple "GET notifications" API which returned objects representing notifications of all of these types (optionally with some filtering capability perhaps) would benefit app developers and likely reduce load from people bending over backward trying to replicate this functionality through the current APIs.

Previously, it was possible to recreate…

  13. Search bar for your individual timeline

Implementing a search bar solely for your timeline will save users from wasting time trying to remember tweets when they refresh the app. Instead of having to scroll down, search for the tweet with words that are constantly used in the atmosphere, and for those that may have forgotten to bookmark it immediately upon sight.

  14. Split personal pictures and memes in media

Can be interesting to split in two the type of medias in user profiles.
1/ Personal pictures of the user (where he is tagged)
2/ All the rest (gif, memes, etc.)
Currently it's a little bit messy when you want to check the medias of a user.

  15. Poll with images

It's a pity to not be able to create a poll providing images on the same tweet. Why not adding it, like you did for retweet few years ago ?

  16. Control scope of tweets individually

The evolution of this week was really interesting, but I would go further and like Facebook, let the user decides WHO can see a tweet (everybody, only my followers, our only the mentioned users).

  17. Integration of twitter login flow for mobile apps and websites

A lab for building a simple login flow using the REST API and HTTP headers would do us a world of good. Detailed steps with how to build structured messages (I am aware that this is documented in fair detail but a lab form would additionally help us test our individual solutions as well) along with reference implementation and standard value outputs against which bespoke solutions can be tested. Along with the above a list of reference implementations for various languages such as Javascript, Java, Python would help as well. I am still stuck at Twitter login and am struggling…

  18. Twitter and users improvements

Adding a trial or a demo developer account would be a great and fantastic idea because it well help the users to try something new and make them very interesting and in the other hand it well help twitter seeing their actions and knowing if they are able to be responsible of the developer account or not.

  19. Provide an SLA

Describe the level commitment (and dedication) to APIs.

What are the thresholds for usage & overall sunsetting of service?

What criteria will be used to make significant changes?

  20. API Endpoints for Developer Portal

An API to manage developer resources would be very useful. Manage projects, apps, users, get subscriptions and related metrics, etc would be helpful to have. Many companies and developers have developer accounts on multiple platforms. Keeping an eye on our developed app resources through an API might save years off of developers' life :)
