Build a conversation updates API
I would like to recommend building a conversations API that enables developers to track updates to full conversation threads. This API would retrieve the entire conversation that a Tweet is in, and return all Tweets and replies within a given thread. This API would enable developers to go from a Tweet of interest to all replies in the thread, without having to recursively search for Tweets with the correct "inreplytostatusid".
Also please add here
If I have also added a mention to a reply to a tweet, how can I tell which user the mention is for by replying to which user?
When multiple people have a conversation, the reply destination is multiple people, but in_reply_to_user_id returns one string type user_id.
I think every reply user_id should be in in_reply_to_user_id.
As a solution, how about putting in_reply_to_user_id into list with each user_id as string type?
Thanks for the feedback Richie. You'll be happy to know that other developers have been asking for this as well:
As far as I know, this is still not currrently available in the public API. I know that it is possible to get them through the mention timeline & receive them thanks to the AAA, but since you want to implement an endpoint to retrieve the list of hidden replies to a given tweet, why not making it fully functionnal by providing a tweets/replies (or whatever route you like) with a parameter allowing to show/hide hidden replies?

The Replies API should include both direct and nested replies
