Twitter follow/unfollow Limits
Hi, I'd love for twitter to readjust the current Follow/unfollow Limits currently set for each app.. we understand these limits are being set to eliminate spam activities on twitter but there should be an exclusion to this rule. for example there could be restrictions as to who can be followed or unfollowed (spammed) by the app/service and this should be limited to only those that use the same service/app reason being that the users already know what they're getting into. the funny thing is - users already know how to do these these without even using a 3rd party service. and the highest form of punishment they get from twitter is a 1hr - to 2hrs ban. But when we as developers try it... our api access gets revoked. "NOT FAIR"
Thank you for this feedback. We only recently reduced these limits for some of the reasons that you mention in your request, and at present there are no plans to change the current rate limits associated with these actions. There are very few reasons for Twitter users to need to follow others at a very high speed and our models show that this sort of behaviour is consistent with inorganic, automated apps rather than an individual user's personal choice.
The new version of the Twitter API that we enabled via Twitter Developer Labs for early adopters today initially has no access to these follow / unfollow activities, and we do not currently plan to review the limits you've mentioned.
Please keep an eye on our developer roadmap, but at this time we do not expect to make changes to the limits you've described. Thank you.
