alt text via API
Images in tweets should have their alt text available via API. Make it obvious. Here is where I would have expected to find it: https://developer.twitter.com/en/docs/tweets/data-dictionary/overview/entities-object#media

Thanks for the feedback! While we are aware of this ask, we will not be able to prioritize this in the near future. Please keep voting for this idea if it resonated with you.

This is very disappointing, it essentially cripples support for Alt text on the site, which is already not prominent enough.
Given the new version of the Labs API including expansions, I don't see any technical reason how this extra feature, which is already present in the old API can't be easily be implemented.
This is a massive step backward.
I can understand cutting out less frequently used features but applying this to accessibility features just makes no sense whatsoever.
I hope Twitter reconsiders and re-priorities this appropriately.

In Labs v2, the tweet endpoints are STILL not fixed. alt text is not in any of the documented expansions.
I would expect to request them with the media.fields parameter, eg:
/labs/2/tweets/:id?expansions=attachments.media_keys&media.fields=alt_text

Thanks; then I'd love to see it in the docs/examples - also to have it returned by default.

include_ext_alt_text=true still works for Standard REST, but Labs does not appear to have this

Yes! Information that improves the accessibility of apps and thus the usefulness of said apps for the people that use them should be available to all.
Twitter, please don’t keep making it impossible to make accessible apps for you platform.
