  1. Change rate limit for blocks

There should be a higher rate limit per user for blocking and unblocking. Since this is the only way to remove followers, it would be nice to have a higher rate limit for this to remove a larger amount of followers.

  3. Trigger Warnings!

Twitter needs a feature where users can toggle “on/off” to state if a the tweet they’re composing contains sensitive content, or is potentially triggering. As simple as giving options in the same manner of “who can reply” feature.

Muting words can be helpful for filtering out triggering text Tweets, but doesn’t stop triggering media tweets, such as violence(gun, police, domestic abuse, etc.), racism, psychiatric conditions, injuries, illness, death, natural disasters, etc.

The checkbox of if your account “contains sensitive material” is not enough.

Many tweets that are very triggering go viral, and people don’t know that until they’ve watched/read all…

  4. Metric that indicates how many users have saved your tweet as a bookmark

I think this metric is a unique way to gauge long-term engagement among users. Retweets can be likened to quick, instinctive reactions to content, but I think there is value in also providing users with measures that indicate more deliberative reactions (a good way to delineate these user behaviours can be best explained through 'System 1' vs 'System 2' thinking).

For instance, suppose a professor tweets about a recently published academic paper. Whilst retweets provide insight into timely reactions, the academic might want to also keep track of other users who might potentially revisit/avail of their published content in the…

  5. Link Preview for twitter links

This is to bring to your attention a certain UI behavior on Twitter. Currently, we do not see link preview on Twitter for links like this:
    https://twitter.com/applesupport
    https://twitter.com/twitter

In other words, Twitter doesn't show link previews for links in the twitter.com domain. The said webpages https://twitter.com/applesupport and https://twitter.com/twitter do not have twitter:card tags, as a result, the preview doesn't show up. It would be nice to have some insights into the reasoning behind the behavior. Also wanted to know if this behavior can be changed and some previews can be shown natively for such links.

    Note: This behavior is not…

  6. Built a new Twitter Library for C++

    Hello, Dear

I built a library to use Twitter API for C++ developer

Now, supported endpoints are these one

    • statuses/update
    • statuses/destroy/:id
    • statuses/retweet/:id
    • statuses/user_timeline
    • favorites/create
    • favorites/destroy
    • media/upload(support: jpg, jpeg, png, gif, mp4)

you can show more info at GitHub (https://github.com/koron0902/CocoaTweet/tree/master)

I hope my library listed on "Tools and libraries" (https://developer.twitter.com/en/docs/twitter-api/tools-and-libraries)

  7. Datetime fields should accept all valid variations of ISO8601 timezone formats

The start_time and end_time parameters to the tweets API currently only accept datetimes in YYYY-MM-DDTHH:mm:ssZ format, ie with the "Z" at the end. But ISO8601 has other types of valid format, and I think the Twitter API should accept them.

    For example YYYY-MM-DDTHH:mm:ss+0000.
See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_8601#Time_zone_designators for other valid formats.

PS your forum software interprets an underscore in a URL as a markdown italic indicator! smh

  8. billing information country doesn't include Korea, Republic of

I wanted to pay for PREMIUM Api. So I tried to put in my billing information, when writing down my billing address I was surprised to know that Korea, Republic of ( or South Korea) was not on the list.
I cannot understand why this is the case, but it is frustrating that I cannot pay because my country is not on the list.

  11. Offer free accounts to developers of Open Source libraries

I have discussed this regularly with @andypiper and it has never managed to move on.

I am working on the Tweetinvi library for free as an individual. I am not making any money from this library. My entire purpose is to help the .NET Twitter developers community.

It has been impossible for me to access some of the endpoints of Twitter because I do not have an enterprise account. Please make it possible in the backend for some apps to have a restricted access (kind of sandbox) to the Twitter API for Enterprises.

Without the support from Twitter, this is…

  12. Twitter trends API reliability

Currently available twitter trends API (/1.1/trends/place) seems to have issues due to which it returns stale data.

    Previously reported issues:
    https://twittercommunity.com/t/twitter-trends-not-updating-in-trends-api/141502
    https://twittercommunity.com/t/twitter-trends-not-updating-in-trends-api/136976
    https://twittercommunity.com/t/twitter-trends-showing-same-results-for-past-several-days/118821

It usually happens once in few months or so and usually lasts for few hours (until, I believe, someone fixes it).

  14. add_reaction & remove_reaction endpoints

A good idea is to add an add_reaction and remove_reaction endpoints in direct message! and of course we need an add_reaction & remove_reaction events too!

  15. See more tweets divider

I scroll my feed. Then it goes for say 4hs ago to 14hrs ago. Then I scroll back up to fine “ see more tweets”

Can you make that divider line bold or a different color so that I don’t scroll past it as easily? I have a screen shot of how easy it is to scroll past.

  16. Encoding UTF-16 instead of UTF-8

Tweet text and user description are encoded in UTF-16 since I saw in the tweet texts this hex code appeared \ud83c\udf81 which is a surrogate pair that translates into a gift emoji 🎁 . In Hex UTF-16BE that wrapped present is encoded with: D8 3C DF 81, in UTF-8 this same emoji is encoded with F0 9F 8E 81. Surrogate pairs are only featured in UTF-16

Can you please confirm that you are using UTF-16 and note that somewhere in your docs, that will save future developers' nerves

  17. Bookmarks That Don't Delete

I thought the idea of Bookmarks was to save a tweet you wanted to look at again. So, why do Bookmarks delete on their own. I've seen many, many people complaining about this issue. My idea is for you to figure out a way stop Bookmarks from deleting on their own. Thanks.

  18. Need for Twitter 'test accounts/users' for testing functionality

As an integration developer, I need the ability to test endpoint functionality, publishing/scheduling and media so that we can effectively test the development of features. Having a test Twitter user would be helpful for testing.

Facebook offers this feature with their developer platform: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/development/build-and-test/test-users/

Can Twitter create a similar feature?

  19. Sign in screen

Just a small review from a UX Designer:

If I go to the home screen (desktop version) and click on the sign-up button I don't have the option to go back if I, for example, made a mistake and want to log in.
The only way back is to refresh the page.
Maybe adding an X at the top left part would be a good idea.

  20. Improve NER Tagging on the State of Maine

I've been using state NER annotations (works great!) provided by the twitter API and I'm noticing that the state of Maine likely needs more training as I'm seeing it picked up much less often, even on 'easy' tagging situations where other states are picked up. There are some collisions between languages on Maine (and Montana) which cause issues, but even on lang:en tweets, Maine seems to be picked up much less than it should be.
