Offer free accounts to developers of Open Source libraries
I have discussed this regularly with @andypiper and it has never managed to move on.
I am working on the Tweetinvi library for free as an individual. I am not making any money from this library. My entire purpose is to help the .NET Twitter developers community.
It has been impossible for me to access some of the endpoints of Twitter because I do not have an enterprise account. Please make it possible in the backend for some apps to have a restricted access (kind of sandbox) to the Twitter API for Enterprises.
Without the support from Twitter, this is a constant research of partnerships with companies who do have enterprise account in order for me to test the library.
This also means that I cannot write end to end tests possible for the enterprise api.
As library developers we do not need crazy amount of rate limits, we just need to access all the api, for free. It is also important that we can simulate the different levels of access.
Basic, Premium and Enterprise so that we can tests how data looks like based on each of these levels.
> Note. Also I wanted to mention that sandbox is a great step towards this goal but still lacks some of the purpose. For example the Account Activity offers to have multiple environments. In sandbox such a scenario is impossible. It makes it impossible to write end to end tests simulating a multi environments configuration.
