  1. Search by minimum retweets and likes in API 2

Being able to search by minimum number of favourites and retweets as we could in API 1.1 would be great to see in Recent search API 2. This is particularly useful for a large volume of tweets, and being able to find the tweets with the most engagements.

  2. Change the rate limit for the recent search endpoint

Please consider changing the current rate limit for the recent search endpoint (v2 API). Currently an app can only fetch a total of 500k tweets in a monthly window, no matter how many active Twitter users it has, or if the requests are per-user. If an app has over 500k active user then there's no way for the app to function correctly due to this limit.

In my case we're offering people to fetch hashtagged posts from Twitter for free, which is very popular for all kind of events, such as weddings and virtual conferences. We're not able to provide…

  3. Include List Operators in new Search API

    Hi there!

Hoping to see some sort of continuation of the "list:user/listname param" operators in the V2 api.

Due to the continued growth of Twitter content it becomes harder and harder to curate and filter your own relevant content. Being able to create a list of subject experts and then filter the content they're talking about is a great way of improving the quality of you tweet feeds.

  4. Search by Annotation / Entity

It would be an awesome feature in the Twitter API to search twitter for annotation type and normalized text such as Place or Organization.

  5. Alt-text for media should be available

The alt-text for media attachments such as images and videos should be available via the API.

  6. Add related_id rule for query parameter

The /2/tweets/search/recent now return a tree about the target conversation. If a user walks through a tweet in the middle of the conversation. The API returns not about that tweet thread but the whole conversation. Although sinceid or untilid could paging the thread. But a "related_id" for filter out the results could be nicer.

    Expect:
Pass the target conversation and related_id for the interest tweet. API returns:
    1. A thread from the interest tweet to the beginning of the conversation.
    2. All children for the interest tweet derived replies/quotes.

  8. Encoding 64bit user ids in 8 chars

    Dear Twitter,
It's me again. My app requires search queries containing a maximal number of "from:" parameters. I need to give my users this number. Right now, owing to variable username and user id lengths, I can only tell them an approximate number.
Would it be possible to have a 8 char encoding of the 64bit user ids? Then I could tell my users that the number is 56 exactly, instead of an arbitrary number confusingly dependent on username and user id length.

    Many thanks in advance,
    Javier

  9. Group "from:" parameters together in search queries

    Dear Twitter,

The quality of my app is dependent on the number of from: parameters I
can put into a single search query. Would it be possible to group "from:"
    parameters like this, for example:

from(dhh OR billgates OR theeconomist OR beckyquick OR architecturehub etc etc)

    instead of:

    from:dhh OR from:billgates OR from:theeconomist OR from:beckyquick OR
    ... etc etc

This would instantly improve the quality of my app's features, while
seemingly being of little consequence to the API. I do understand
this may only appear so, and not actually be the case. Either way, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

  10. Timeline search

The Twitter website allows you to filter search results by “people you follow”, but this doesn’t include retweets into your timeline. I’d like an API that allows you to search for any tweet that has appeared in a specified user’s home timeline.

  12. Add the ability to return RT's on the Search API

Add the ability to retrieve RT's of a given Tweet (both normal and quoted), much like that as pulling a conversation.

  13. Search with engagement metrics

Search should have option to return tweets sorted by most engaged (likes, retweets, etc).
Search should have option to only return tweets that have high engagement stats.
Search should have option to only return tweets from popular users (users with atleast X followers).

  14. Counts for 30 Day Search

Create an API or elevated access that just permits 30 Day Search Counts - omitting data. This functionality has been requested by PR organizations simply wanting to track counts of articles or mentions. Typically, rate limits needed are significantly higher than what we offer for Standard Enterprise API packages ( ~200,000 - 20MM requests needed per month). This will help us encourage this usage and create pricing that is affordable to organizations who are not dependent on social.

  15. Referenced Tweet Media (V2)

When including referencedtweets and expanding referencedtweets.id, the media keys are included in the reference tweet, but the media objects are not included in the includes object. There is no way to get media for referenced tweets without an additional API call for each referenced tweet.

Please include the referenced tweet media objects

  16. max_results parameter value

It would be useful if you allow value less than 10 for max_results in Recent Search API. Considering the monthly tweet limit, sometimes I don't want to fetch 10 tweets for a user.

  19. Make likes/favorites searchable

Twitter has a limited ability to retrieve likes/favorites.

If likes/favorites were implemented as a timeline like tweets, all the features used to search tweets could be used with likes/favorites.

    https://github.com/igorbrigadir/twitter-advanced-search

A Twitter user could put this together now by creating a separate account for likes/favorites where they retweet the tweets they like/favorite.

    e.g.

    from:reuters filter:nativeretweets Broadhurst Cona
